The fascinating synergy between Korean traditions and Romanesque architecture
The Seoul Anglican Cathedral of St. Mary the Virgin and St. Nicholas is a beautiful hertiage that has gone through contruction from 1922 to 1996, overcoming numerous obstacles along the way. While in general following a Romanesque architecture style difficult to find in Korea, the cathedral also includes certain Korean aspects, such as its roof tiles. Furthermore, the cathedral was the starting point of Korea's historic June Democratic Struggle, making it a valuable location.
