Where officials studied the stars during the Silla Dynasty
Cheomseongdae, built during the SIlla Dynasty, has been declared as Korea's national treasure in December 20th, 1962. The building is known to be an astronomical observatory during the ruling of Queen Seondeok, but certain opinions claim that the building was built for other purposes. One of Gyeongju's top landmarks, Cheomseongdae is a must-visit for all travelers coming to Gyeongju.
